Beautiful Maine and Quebec Canada

Sorry about the delay in updating our blog. I had to fly back to Las Vegas for a few weeks to take care of some business, while I left Brent all alone in Cape Cod. When I returned, we toured Maine. It has got to be one of the most beautiful states in America. The first picture is President Bush's compound in Kennebunkport. Wouldn't mind living there. The water was completely surrounding it except for the little peninsula it was on.

We stayed in Acadia National Park. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking. Close by is a small town called Bar Harbor. The ship in the fog was there at the marina. It was pretty chilly that day because Hurricane Hannah was starting to move through. I thought about all our family and friends in the 110+ temperatures in Las Vegas. But not for long though. There was too much to keep us occupied.

Bar Harbor is a popular place for tourists. Especially cruise ships.

On one of our nights in the park, we got a knock on the door at 10:00 pm. They were warning everyone that Hurricane Hannah was coming through that night and they were suggesting that everyone evacuate the coast. It happened to be Saturday night and we were going inland early on Sunday for church. So, we packed up and headed for the church parking lot in the downpour before the winds hit.

The last picture in Maine was just so you could see how a lot of people live here.

On one of our days, we drove across the border to Canada and walked around Quebec City. It was interesting to see the road signs as soon as we crossed the border. Quebec speaks french and thinks that if you visit, you should too. So, there are no english signs. Also, they go by kilometers per hour instead of miles per hour. These signs really throw you off.

The streets of old Quebec are really fun to walk around. Very quaint. The huge hotel is the one you usually see on Canadian post cards. It is the historical Fairmont Hotel and it is beautiful!!

We knew we were back in the good old US of A when we were almost back to our campground and saw this sign for a gas station.
