More Washington D.C. and Baltimore Harbor

We spent one more day in Washington D.C. We had to finish the Museum of Natural History because mom wanted me to be sure to spend more time looking at the bird section. I have tenderly placed our best picture of the birds on this blog just for her.

Then we walked to the end of the mall to view the Capitol. It is such a beautiful building. I took over the camera from Brent and I think I got about a hundred pictures of the Capitol alone.

We walked around to the back of the building and it is just as impressive as the front.

Our next stop was the Library of Congress.

It wasn't as impressive on the outside, but the inside was...wow!! There were tiny mosaics on the floors, ceilings, and walls. Over each round window and round portrait was an intricately carved garland and underneath each was a great quote. One of my favorites was "The true university of these days is a collection of books."
Then it was off to the Museum of Space and Aeronautics. We were exhausted, but so much to see, we had to keep going. It was well worth it.
Our last spot on the Mall was the Museum of Modern Art. What a unique building and an even uniquer collection of art.

After having a long rest. We went the following day to Baltimore harbor. It was a great place to be. Very relaxing and a lot of ambience.

Of course we had to stick around until the sun went down so we could see the lights. But, fortunately we found a Cheesecake Factory and it was just the place to kill time.
